Intermittent writer

I’ve been neglecting this blog for the past two months. Honestly, I had to go check when the last post was because I had no idea. So, I guess I’m an intermittent writer and/or blogger.

All my excuses

I can’t say it’s because I don’t have time. I have some time, but then I’m tired, so I’d rather lie in bed and read a book, or I don’t know what to write about, which is ironic, considering my last post. You know, there’s always an excuse.

I am just so tired when I get home from work and I don’t understand why. I eat fairly healthy, take supplements, exercise, get enough sleep. You know all that kind of stuff, but I am still tired. I just don’t get it.

Over the weekends, we’re busy with all kinds of other stuff and then I just want to relax and take naps. Before I know it, it’s Monday and the rat race is on again.

I don’t even have kids yet and it feels like I don’t have time for myself—how is this even possible?

The situation reminds me of an Afrikaans saying, “Jy kla met ‘n witbrood onder die arm”. It literally translates to “You’re complaining with white bread under your arm” and means that someone is complaining while they are actually very privileged. It’s kind of what people call first-world problems. This is what I have.

Procrastination

Time is not the problem; procrastination is the problem. My husband always says, “Procrastination is like masturbation. It feels good in the moment, but in the end you just fucked yourself.” He’s right, but since this blog is not driven by money, quite the opposite, I often put it on the back burner.

I still enjoy blogging and writing; I just need to get back into the groove again.

So, this is my roundabout way of explaining why I disappear from time to time.

Meh.
