Things that annoy me (part 2)
Let’s be honest, we’re all annoyed at this stage. We’re not allowed to go out, the economy is crashing, and we don’t know when this thing is going to end. However, I am grateful that I can still work (and get a salary) and my family is healthy. This is all true, but I still need something to blog about. Hence, here continues the list of things that annoy me:
Being sick
When I’m sick I don’t just get grumpy, I experience a whole spectrum of emotions I usually try to avoid – sadness, nostalgia, and disappointment. I’m sick right now and I can’t tell if I’m just sick or going through my mid-youth crisis all over again.
Going to the doctor
The main reason why going to the doctor is annoying is because it is so annoyingly expensive. I know they save lives and whatnot, but it’s not so noble if you’re making ten times more than the average person while doing it. Is it not bad enough that I’m sick (refer to the previous paragraph), why does the whole thing need to cost me an arm and a leg?
Plus, doctors themselves can be a little annoying. Why do they ask, “How are you?” ‘Probably not great if I’m here, dude.’ And then it’s more annoying when you realise, you’re paying to answer that silly question.
If I’m unlucky I have to get an injection. I’m not afraid of needles anymore but it’s uncomfortable. Drawing blood is even worse. I’m squeamish when it comes to blood in general, but drawing blood is the weirdest, grossest feeling. I have to force myself not to puke and look away.
When old people think I’m good with technology just because I’m young(ish)
I’m really not. Yes, I can do the basic stuff like Word, Excell, Gradebook, and some other stuff but I don’t know why you can’t print your document. I don’t know why you can’t connect to the Wi-Fi, and I certainly don’t know how to install programs onto your PC. When I need to know how to do stuff, I do what any rational person does, I Google it or ask my boyfriend (he’s a programmer – I’m super lucky).
Getting a horrible song stuck in my head
I especially hate it when I have a song stuck in my head and I don’t know the song title, artist, or the lyrics. In those cases, not even Google can help me. Then I spend the whole day humming something that doesn’t make any sense. This is probably the definition of “First world problems”.
These are just a few on the list. The thing that annoys me the most is annoying people. You’re probably thinking ‘Wow, thank you Captain Obvious’ but everybody can relate. We all know those people who think that they are the centre of the universe and for this reason, they can only talk about their own, dull existence. That is quite annoying. I know it’s mean to say it, but it’s true. Beauty and money can make up for a lot of things, but not for being annoying.
If you think there’s something I should add to the list, please let me know (contact details below).
I know a song that irritates people, irritates people, irritates people. I know a song that irritates people, irritates people, irritates people . . .
That song is in your head now, isn’t it? . . . Crap, now it’s in my head too.
