My favourite things
Helen from Crispy Confessions nominated me to write a post about all my favourite things according to the letters of the alphabet. It’s a bloggers challenge and I’ll also be tagging other people to take part.
A – Apples
I especially love Granny Smith apples. I like that they’re crunchy and sour – yum.
B – Books
I love big books, and I cannot lie! I love writing so I love reading and vice versa. I’m always up for a good story (no matter the format, if I’m honest).

C – Cartoons
I have loved cartoons since I was a child. I’d get up early on a Saturday morning and watch all the cartoon on TV. Afterward, I’d get post adrenaline depression, like ‘what am I supposed to do with my life now?’ If I catch SpongeBob SquarePants or Pokémon on TV, I’ll still sit down and watch it. Why? Because I’m not dead on the inside (yet).
D – Dogs
What’s not to love. They’re fluffy and lovable fur babies. I love them so much that I post about them on this blog.

E – Eating
My love of eating unhealthy food is the reason I gained so much weight during lockdown. The kitchen is never far away when you work from home.
F – Foxes
They are so majestic. I developed a bit of an obsession with them after reading The little prince. Obviously, the fox is my favourite character.
G – Gingers
My boyfriend is a ginger. Gingers add spice to your life.
H – The hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy
It’s my absolute favourite book ever. It’s quirky and outrageous but just the best.
I – Inception
It’s one of my favourite movies. I guess it’s because it’s about dreams and dreaming and I have really weird ones.

J – Jokes
I especially love dad jokes and puns. Oh, the little joys in life.
K – Karate
Want to learn how to defend yourself and feel like a total badass? Karate is for you. Also, contrary to popular belief, you can start at any age. Karate is for everyone.
L – Lists
I love lists. They give me the illusion that I have my life in order. In all honesty, it’s nice to get my thoughts down on paper so I know what I have to do, or buy, etc.

M – Malva pudding
It’s a South African dessert. It has a sponge-like look, but it’s dripping in syrup, and you eat it with custard.
N – Naps
I love an afternoon nap.
O – Overcoming obstacles
It’s all about hard work and believing in yourself. You are whatever you commit to (Paulo Coelho).
P – People watching
It’s like watching wildlife.
Q – Quesadillas
It depends on where you eat it. There’s one particular restaurant that gets it just right.
R – Random questions
I enjoy asking my boyfriend and best friend weird questions, like, “Do deaf people know that a fart makes a sound?” or “Do you think giraffes can burp with those long necks?”
S – Stand-up comedy
I love that stand-up comedians can find the humorous in the everyday. It’s something that I strive to.
Also see: Comedians love chaos
T – Tacos
Tacos that you build yourself are the best.
U – Unicorns
Anything with a unicorn on is something I want.
V – Vetkoek
I’m not sure if it’s a proudly South African dish, but we love our vetkoek. Translated into English vetkoek is ‘fat cake’. It’s basically a flour based batter that you fry in oil and then it’s an oily bun thingy. It’s amazing. We like to put beef mince in it.
W – Writing
I feel like this doesn’t need explaining. Writing has infinite possibilities, what’s not to love?

X – Xylophones
Because I couldn’t think of another word that starts with X.
Y – Yogurt
I love yogurt but it makes my sinus problem worse. I also like the smooth ones without the fruit pieces in.
Z – Zebras
Is it a horse? Is it a barcode? It’s a bit of both!
There you go, those are some of my favourite things.
My nominees
These are blogs that I enjoy reading, so do yourself a favour and check them out.
Next time is back to the weird posts.

If you ever visit South Africa (it’ll be super cheap because of our weak currency) you have to try some of the local food. You can mostly expect pastries and sweet things 🙂
Deandra
There’s a lot of similar stuff that we like. When you said quesadillas, I felt that one wholeheartedly lol. This is a fun tag!

Glad you enjoyed it 🙂

Love this list! I tried some malva pudding when I’d visited South Africa a few years back, and I remember it being so delish!

Isn’t it the best? Which towns or places did you visit here in South Africa?
Thanks for reading 🙂
