Let’s review 2022
I’m late to the party, but I want to review the year that has passed. It was both boring and eventful, but I’m getting ahead of myself. So, let’s review 2022.
My favourite posts
I posted 71 blog posts in 2022 and I tried to post at least once a week, but when I started working, it was difficult to keep it up. I found myself writing about mental health quite a lot. Here are some posts that stood out:
Misconceptions about depression
Saying ‘fuck it’ can change your life
I wrote a few funny ones as well (or at least; I tried)
Deadpool would make every movie better
The Benedict Cumberbatch paradox
The adventures
We were so lucky to see a bit more of Australia in 2022. Here are a few highlights:
I watched great movies and series
I reviewed these:
Dr Strange 2: Multiverse of Madness
Stuff that happened
I had such high hopes at the start of the year of everything that I would achieve, and to my surprise, I actually did most of it. I’ll try to be better this year.
We joined a church down the road. It was a good way to make friends, and it made the transition to living in Australia a lot easier.
I tried out two karate dojos. I liked both of them, and I would have joined the one if it didn’t smell so bad. It smelled of sweat and feet because there was very little ventilation. I’m planning on trying out a few more martial arts places in the coming weeks.
As mentioned, we went on a couple of adventures here in Australia.
We visited family in South Africa, as can be seen here and here.
There was a flood here in South East Queensland. It was the first flood I had ever experienced.
I got a job after months of applying everywhere and I am so thankful.
I started my second blog with my dad and got some insight into how his memory works.
Also, I had a couple of really weird dreams, as can be seen here and here.
Finally, I also lost a bit of weight. I’m super proud of myself for doing it.
Most commented-on post
Funnily enough, the post that got the most comments was a post about the benefits of swearing. I stand by it because it’s not good to hold it in.
What’s up for 2023?
Honestly, I haven’t thought so far. I want to get into the groove of working again, and in my new role.
This year, I want to take martial arts classes again and hopefully make a few new friends.
Finally, I’d love to continue blogging and writing. What else do I need?
Lastly
What was your highlight of 2022?
Meh.

Nice recap! I think it’s good to look back at our accomplishments every now and then.
My biggest accomplishment was getting a great job that allows me to work remotely and write full time. It’s not much, but it lowered my stress level.
Cheers!
