Let’s review 2020

The year is almost over and I thought I’d do a bit of a review on it. Let’s be honest, it was a disaster (global pandemic and economic crisis and all) but it wasn’t all bad for me personally. So, let’s review 2020.

My favourite posts

As any blogger will know, not all posts are equal. Some are mediocre but once in a while you’re lucky and write something that you’re really proud of (or just really enjoyed writing). Here are some of mine:

About random things

How to deal with conspiracy theories

The best messed-up story ever

I should start smoking

Comedians love chaos

A new perspective on the friend zone

Rehabilitated commitment-phobe

About my family (but mostly my dad)

More stuff my dad says

My dad saying dad things

The bread altar

Kalahari manners

About the dogs

(Michelle Reviews) Dogs

‘Make your pet a meme’-week

Pandemic posts

Obviously, I had a lot to say about the pandemic. It wasn’t all doom and gloom, luckily.

Corona fear is here

My dad during this lockdown

Cake during COVID-19

Things to do while you’re bored at home

Most commented on posts

It seemed like readers had a lot to say about these posts. I don’t mind it at all – keep those comments coming.

Weird presents

I don’t like Christmas

Why I hate horror movies

How to get rid of a creepy guy

My favourite blogs

This year I also discovered a couple of blogs that I really liked. This is not an exhaustive list.

Buffalo Sauce Everywhere

PS Conway

Crispy Confessions

Jocularious

The Black Princess Diaries

Chocoviv

Jenny in Neverland

Doubting Thomas

Bill’s Writing Place

Zoewiezoe

Other stuff I did

First, I taught karate classes at our dojo, but only the junior belts. It’s so difficult to keep the attention of children.

Second, I entered a couple of short story competitions. I didn’t win any but I think it’s great experience and it hones my writing skills.

Also, I attempted to wash the walls in the house. I didn’t get to everything, but I tried.

What’s up for next year?

So, next year I’m doing my education diploma while I’m working. I hope I can cope.

Also, I’ll hopefully continue teaching at the dojo.

At the end of next year, I’m up for my next grading for 2nd Dan, which is a big deal to me. I’m already putting in a lot of effort to get fit and eat healthily. Not that’s it going very well (but I’m trying).

There you have it, a review of 2020. Hopefully, 2021 will be better. If not, we’ll make due.

Hopeful meh.
